De-Cluttering Your House, De-Clutter Your Mind

A typical Monday evening after the heavy traffic, never satisfied boss and an exhausting day at work you came back home then found stuffs lying around the floor, the couch is being polluted with things you didn't know you've used it, used shirts hanging around somewhere and all other things just makes your mind clutter up and think that the only solution is to just scream to release it all.
STOP! and Hold that scream for later because here's a few tips that will help you clear up your house and clear up your mind so these scenario will never happen again.

The Pareto Principle

Also known as the 80-20 rule, the law of the vital few, and the principle of factor sparsity states that, for many events, roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes. Applied to home management it means that your only use 20% of the things in your house 80% of the time, and the other 80% of the things in your house is only used 20% of the time. So let's go minimalist about this and try thing think very hard on what the thing you use 80% of the time so you know what are the vital things and what are the things that clutter your house. See your not only doing your guest a favor but your doing yourself a favor by having a peace of mind and more space to live in.

Stop Hoarding

I know what your thinking "You can't just throw away thing willy nilly, it might be useful in the near future". But here's the deal do you want these things to clutter up your mind and will lessen your capability to think clearly and thus creating stress now for the probability of having it useful in the near future? Just look at most of the things you've brought on home shopping or your impulses buying moments do you really use them most of the time? Don't try to backwards rationalize things and face the facts, if you can do that then you'll be great in no time.

A place for everything

Having a shelve are good especially if it is organized, if you've used the pareto principle as given above you'll have more space for your shelve for it to be more organized. Have the things you use the most in the living room. Don't place your personal things in the kitchen. Have dividers on your drawers to make it more organize. And make it a rule to follow this "A place for everything" rule.

STOP PROCASTINATING

Have proactive decision that you'll spend a time for a general cleaning and organizing, be sure stick to it rain or shine or have a small time everyday to de-clutter your house one step at a time soon you'll make a big difference without you even noticing it.
